200 New Houses of Row Villages Built This Year

As reported earlier, Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo had inaugurated the construction of row village with 35 units at RT 03/05, Kalianyar Urban Village, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta. Nevertheless, Jokowi made another plan to build other 200 units in the capital city in order to make local citizens' life more comfortable and healthy.

Through 2014 APBD, as many as 200 row village units will be built in RT 03/05 Kalianyar this year. Besides that, some programs will also be realized, such as road widening, greening, and water channel repairing will also be carried out. Of the existing 35 houses, other 200 houses will be built in Kalianyar next year.

"Through 2014 City Budget (APBD), we will build 200 units of row village at RT 03/05 Kalianyar next year. Besides that, programs of road widening, greening, and water channel repairing will also be carried out," said Jokowi, when he inaugurated the Kalianyar Row Village, Tambora, West Jakarta, Monday (4/7).

He also directs locals to immediately enroll themselves in row village program next year. "I want you all to enroll on row village program where I would build other 200 units here. Its requirement is just land should not be in dispute," he expressed.

He also urged citizens to maintain the environment through communal work by implementing clean and healthy lifestyle. "If the row village was done, please maintain it. You can do it by holding communal work in order to greening the environment healthier," pleaded Jokowi.

According to Yonathan Pasodung, Head of Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings disclosed there are currently 3 urban villages listed in row village program. They are Tambora Urban Village (41 houses), Kalianyar (houses), and Kapuk (291 houses) that divided in several RWs. "This year, we plan to build 1,350 new units in West Jakarta," he explained.
